ASTRAL FUN

Margaux Bigou not only knows the Riso game well, she‘s also a dedicated zine and DIY person, present at print fairs worldwide and part of @risosurmer – a riso collective to look up to. Good thing that despite *everything* we got to know the New Caledonian raised Paris based artist at the 2020 edition of @indiecon, and with quick sketchbook scans already got to print some A1s together. Now with a bit more time at hand and the whole 594 × 841 at her sole disposal, ASTRAL FUN comes at us with a colour choice reminiscent of Windows Vista, while simoultaniously getting the most out of basic Black. The humour we see is indeed dark with an absurdist touch. While we discover surreal, otherwordly creatures, we recognize patterns, reflections and repetitions - much like being in the universe itself, this poster is nerve-wrecking and soothing at the same time.
